Today marks the start of the 2007 China International Travel Mart, with Kunming in southern China hosting thousands of travel industry people from around the world.
The venue is the Kunming International Convention and Exhibition Centre with its six vast halls, and exhibitors from all the Chinese provinces as well as major cities such as Beijing and Shanghai are present.
And it’s not just China on sale - there are also exhibitors from Africa, Asia, the Middle East, South America and the Pacific, with over 80 nations on display.
Beijing is a key focus as the 2008 Olympics approach, with apparently all five star accommodation in the city already fully booked.
Travel Daily caught up with some of the two dozen or so Australian buyers who were in Kunming last weekend for the China International Travel Mart sourcing product for upcoming brochures.
